VW 7 Passenger SUV Update- Detroit Auto Show 2014

It has been exactly one year since Volkswagen announced the CrossBlue 7 passenger SUV concept. There has been a lot of speculation over the last year where this VW SUV will be produced,Chattanooga or Mexico Plant, and when it would start being produced.

This week marks the 2014 Detroit Auto Show and Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn has confirmed that the German automaker is preparing a new midsize crossover for the North American market. (very exciting) The offical launch will be in 2016. With a temporary name of the Crossblue, it will be based on the new MQB platform, and Volkswagen’s goal is to provide the space and utility that the Tiguan and Touareg haven’t fully be able to provide. VW’s crossover SUV will be able to provide families the space they are looking for without being in the minivan market.
