It has been announced that Volkswagen will no longer produce the Eos hard top convertible model and the Routan van model. The VW Eos reached the American market in the fall of 2006 and the VW Routan debuted in America, after announcing their partnership with Chrysler, in the fall of 2008.
For the last production year of the Eos, the Sport trim will be replaced for 2015 with the Final Edition, which offers added value at the mid-level trim with 18” Vicenza wheels as well as unique Cornsilk Beige and black two-tone Vienna leather. The Routan will not be produced at all. Although it will be sad to see the VW hard top convertible go and the VW mini van say goodbye, there are some new models that will be joining the VW line up in 2015.
Volkswagen plans to introduce the all electric E-Golf (end of the year 2014), the Golf Sportwagen which will replace the Jetta Sportwagen (2015), a face-lift for the Jetta (fall 2014). In the 2015 models, the Beetle, Golf, and Jetta will have the new diesel TDI engine that will give 10 extra horsepower over previous models. What about VW SUV’s? The Touareg will get more refined in 2015 and in 2016 the “CrossBlue” will come to life from the Chattanooga, Tennessee plant.
