Information on the 2015 Volkswagen Touareg is finally making its way around the internet this week! What is new with the VW Touareg? Well, honestly for Touareg lovers, not much difference from the 2014 Touareg.
The 2015 Volkswagen Touareg base model has been slightly adjusted, but not to get rid of your favorite luxury features the VW SUV is known to have. The mechanics are the same as the last update in 2011 and for 2015, Volkswagen slightly redesigning the front end, with a new four-bar grille and a chrome band for the lower fascia. The hatch has also been reshaped and there are new wheel designs. Safety has also been enhanced for the 2015 Touareg, with the addition of blind-spot monitors, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise; the radar system also includes front assist with city emergency braking and there’s an automatic post-collision braking function. The Touareg continues to score well in IIHS testing, although it still hasn’t been crashed by the NHTSA.
The Touareg R-line has been discontinued. Some of the other exterior changes, the Reflex Silver Metallic will replace the Cool Silver, Black Oak Metallic replaces the Toffee Brown, Deep Black Pearl replaces the Black Uni, and Moonlight Blue Pearl replaces the Night Blue. Tungsten Silver has been eliminated from the Touareg color line up.
The addition to the Touareg Sport is the 18-inch “Arica” alloy wheel. The Sport with Navigation hasbeen renamed Sport with Technology and has the 18-inch “Arica” alloy wheel as well as the added “Side Assist” Lane Change Assistant as a standard feature.
The Touareg Lux has added 19-inch “Salvador” alloy wheel, “Side Assist” Lane Change Assistant as a standard feature, an Optional Driver Assistance Package for Lux (P88) includes: Heated Steering Wheel, “Side Assist” Lane Change Assistant and Lane Keep, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Autonomous Emergency Braking, as well as Park Distance Control.
The Touareg Executive adds 20-inch alloy wheels, Stainless steel pedals and door sills, Rear sun shades, “Side Assist” Lane Change Assistant as standard, and the Optional Driver Assistance Package for Executive (PPR) includes: Heated Steering Wheel, “Side Assist” Lane Change Assistant and Lane Keep, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Autonomous Emergency Braking.
Pricing on the 2015 Volkswagen Touareg will start at $44,705 for the Sport Model all the way up to $66,995 for the V6 Touareg Hybrid.
